The keel of this four-deck yacht was laid by the famous Heesen Dutch shipyard under ABS Class rules in 2010 and delivered in 2011. The exterior of this 44-meter (144’) aluminum vessel with its sleek hull lines and multi-sized windows is elegant and recognizable as another masterwork from Heesen.
On the initiative of the present owner, all interiors were refitted to look more luxurious, yet comfortable. The keynote of this new design is the combination of white and autumn colors, as well as contrasting different textures and materials. CASTLEFINN has never been chartered so very little wear and tear; the yacht is in perfect condition.
The yacht was designed to accommodate 10 guests in 5 spacious cabins, each with an ensuite bath. Four guest cabins (two of them - VIP) are situated on the lower deck. There is an additional optional stateroom in the sky lounge with a hidden queen-size drop-down murphy bed which makes it possible to have 12 guests aboard. The full beam owner area is on the main deck and includes a master cabin, master study, an ensuite bathroom with his and hers partitions and a wardrobe closet big enough for extended cruising. Just aft of the owner stateroom is the main salon and dining room integrated with an aft lounge, a magnificent semicircular seating area with a panoramic view that has access to the aft deck. On the 4th and highest deck, the sundeck features an entertainment bar animated by a $100,000 sound system with all the amenities found in a galley including a dumb waiter useful to replenish food and drinks from the galley deck without disturbing the guests. The Jacuzzi and lounging area are forward on the sundeck. On the lowest deck is a garage for storing a tender and water toys which can easily be modified as a beach club for an owner who would rather tow a tender. Additionally, in the garage area there is an engineer's cabin with an ensuite bath, formerly a sauna and shower.
The 44m Heesen is extremely spacious (458 GT) and is a leader among other yachts in this class. Powered by two MTU 16V 4000 M90 diesel engines, this semi-displacement superyacht has a cruising speed of 20 knots with a top speed of exceeding Heesen's rated maximum speed of 23 knots which is an excellent speed for a 147-foot yacht. At an economical speed of 12 knots with zero speed stabilizers CASTLEFINN has the range of a full displacement yacht (3200 nm). In other words, CASTLEFINN has the best of both worlds, speed and range.
In 2021-2022 over 2 million dollars was spent to modernize and improve the electronics, mechanical equipment, and the interior décor. For example, the gyro was replaced ($330,000), K4 TV remotes ($94,000), Exterior Sunscreens ($397,000), Remote fusion Stereo Systems ($104,000), Main engine upgrades ($135,000), and much, much more (look in section called 2021-22 upgrades) The current owner went through the entire yacht and fixed or renewed all systems aboard to have years of trouble-free boating. In 2023 the owner opted to reinstate the ABS class certification which involved replacing all the thru hulls and replating one of the fuel tanks.
After all this work, he purchased a property in a development with a marina that will not accept yachts over 125’. His misfortune will be the new owner’s luck and yes, we will consider a trade with a late model 115-125’ yacht.

Recently, the vessel went through a detailed ABS special survey to complete the classification society requirements (pending final inspection). Over 4 million dollars was spent 2022-2024 on the refit, electronic upgrades, interior upgrades, new equipment, engine and generators, not including the cost of crew labor. We have a complete list of all these upgrades and repairs which are available to all potential buyers. With the ABS 5 year inspection and survey and all the upgrades, for all intents and purposes, this is a new yacht which should give the new owner unparalleled pleasure with minimum maintenance and repairs.
