Carver Yachts History
Proud American shipbuilders, Charles Carter and George Verhagen started Carver Yachts in 1954. Dairy wasn’t enough for these Wisconsinites. They started out by building mahogany-planked, high-speed runabouts for fun in a garage in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
A couple of years later they turned their passion into a business. They moved from runabouts to cabin cruisers and added fiberglass to the mix in the 1970s. The company expanded from the Great Lakes area in the 1980s and became a luxury motor yacht leader throughout the nation.
