1998 Rodriquez Custom “WANDERER”

Overview

The 71’ (21.64m) Trawler WANDERER welcomes eight guests in four cabins. The forward open foredeck area contains open deck walking and foredeck below-deck emergency access.

The Port and starboard open sides at the midship elevation feature a deck rise forward to the open forward deck, as well as an elevation feature down to the main deck at the end of the main deckhouse area.

The aft open deck area extends from the main deckhouse entry forward to the stem bulwarks. The area features no skid-type painted deck and 02 decks covering above.

WANDERER’s interior is outfitted with a seamless acoustical type ceiling system, wood-paneled walls, carpeted and wood type and tile flooring, with high-quality custom, finished cabinetry.

The pilothouse area is outfitted with fixed bolted flange-type windows forward and sides and rear, to provide unobstructed vision forward and aft. The area has egress on both port and starboard sides. Quick-acting aluminum weathertight doors to the outside wing steering station as well as exit aft to open deck.

The interior has stairwell access to the main deck level below. The windows aft are treated with custom privacy blinds.

FORWARD OPEN DECK

The forward open foredeck area contains open deck walking and foredeck below deck emergency access.

The area contains the following compliments:

  • One "Stahl" hydraulic operated deck davit for forwarding launch of forwarding small outboard type vessel.
  • Deck support frame for outboard-type vessel storage and tie-down.
  • Multiple fiberglass-type deck storage box units.
  • Emergency escape center and aft for forwarding salon access.
  • Multiple inflatable type fender units.
  • Forward-facing LED-type floodlighting.
  • Dual hydraulic type anchor chain drives, with stainless type cat head units for the forward as well as port side anchor.
  • One (1) 120# Bruce plow anchor with 1/2" chain. The anchor was mounted in an anchor chute with a Maxwell hydraulic windlass.
  • One (1) 400# Navy anchor and 1/2" chain. The anchor was mounted in the hawse pipe with a Maxwell hydraulic windlass
  • Forward bulwarks with sealed pipe cap, adequate vertical supports, and single course type hand railing above providing approximately 42" high railing protection.
  • Port and starboard Panama type chocks with attached fore and aft horizontal horn-type mooring bitt system.
  • Port and starboard aluminum single action access deck hatches accessing forward P/S chain locker bow void.

PORT AND STARBOARD MAIN DECK

The Port and starboard open sides at the midship elevation feature a deck rise forward to the open forward deck, as well as, an elevation feature down to the main deck at the after the end of the main deckhouse area.

The side access corridor contains the following compliments:

  • Exterior covered approximately 24" wide walking access from forward open deck to after open deck area.
  • Side bulwarks with sealed pipe cap, adequate vertical supports, and single course type hand railing above providing approximately 42" high railing protection.
  • Port and starboard Panama type chocks with attached fore and aft horizontal horn-type mooring bitt system.
  • Main deck entry doors port and starboard near midship.
  • Portside exterior stair access aft to upper deck elevation
  • Exterior marine-type deck lighting.
  • Multiple fixed type windows at main deck level.

AFTER MAIN DECK

The aft open deck area extends from the main deck house entry forward to the stem bulwarks.

The area features no skid type painted deck and 02 deck covering above

The area contains the following compliments:

  • Starboard side aft steering station
  • 4 dog WT door access forward entering machinery space below forward
  • Double ( French type) aluminum weathertight doors entering the main salon forward
  • Approximately 42" high bulwarks with pipe cap, adequate vertical supports, and scuppers at sides and stem
  • Hinged type steel gate at stern bulwarks providing access to swim platform extension at the stern.
  • Storage closet to port at aft bhd of the main deck house
  • Port and starboard Panama type chocks with attached fore and aft horizontal horn-type mooring bitt system.

UPPER AFT DECK

The upper open 02 level deck area is located near the stern of the vessel with access forward into the upper salon, as well as access down the port to the main deck level, via the exterior stairwell.

The area contains the following compliments:

  •  Dual course open 42" high hand railing port, starboard, and aft
  • Port and starboard open passage extending forward at sides to control house access.
  • Access down to the main deck via an open stairway to port.
  • Canvas type framed cover overhead extending approximately 10' from deck house aft
  • Multiple fiberglass deck boxes.
  • Vertical ladder access to pilothouse roof forward to port.
  • Starboard side " Stahl" hydraulic davit crane.

FORWARD WING ACCESS EXTERIOR

The 02 deck level port and starboard exterior is outfitted with approximately 20" wide walkway access extending from the open aft deck forward to each port and starboard exterior steering station, located immediately forward of pilothouse access doors at each side.

The areas contain the following compliments:

  • Side bulwarks with sealed pipe cap, adequate vertical supports, and single course type hand railing above providing approximately 42" high railing protection.
  • Port and starboard exterior weathertight doors forward exiting the pilothouse at the forward section.
  • Port and starboard exterior wing steering stations.
  • Forward walkway access for pilothouse window maintenance

VENTS

Voids, potable and fuel tank goose neck on each tank located approximately 36" above the deck, each. outfitted with check type vent valves..

FENDER SYSTEM

The vessel was noted to have single approximate 3" split pipe type fender system located near t main deck elevation extending from side shear to the stem.

STEERING

The vessel is fitted with two steering rudders and a dual hydraulic system for steering operation. The vessel is equipped with a steering system of design utilizing dual hydraulic pumps to operate steering ram units.

CLIMATE CONTROL

The vessel is reported by owners to be equipped with eight (8) Cruise Air water-cooled type central air and heating systems located throughout the vessel.

JOINER

The interior of the vessel is outfitted with a seamless acoustical type ceiling system, wood-paneled walls, carpeted and wood type and tile flooring, with high-quality custom, finished cabinetry.

SAFETY APPARATUS

Necessary safety apparatus and equipment was generally noted to be in the appropriate location aboard the vessel at the time of inspection.

Some life rings and various exterior safety equipment was reported in storage at the time of the inspection as the vessel was undergoing cleaning and new coating at the time of the survey.

Life jackets were noted to be generally strategically located throughout the quarter's area in accordance with necessary USCG compliance.

PILOTHOUSE/ OBSERVATION DECK

The pilothouse area is outfitted with fixed bolted flange-type windows forward and sides and rear, to provide unobstructed vision forward and aft.

The area has egress on both port and starboard sides. Quick-acting aluminum weathertight doors to the outside wing steering station as well as exit aft to open deck. The interior has stairwell access to the main deck level below.

The windows aft are treated with custom privacy blinds.

  • Forward suite attached private head with vanity, Jacuzzi type tub and Vacuflush toilet.
  • Center passage (approx. 36" wide) extending from master suite forward to main deck stairway access aft. The passage contains removable floor panels for bilge and machinery access below.
  • Three person state room with U/L single and one lower single bunks including built in storage, private head aft with lavatory, shower, and Vacuflush toilet.
  • Port side state room with double side bed, including built in storage, private head forward with lavatory, shower, and Vacuflush toilet.
  • Laundry area to port of center passageway with apartment size LG washer and dryer.
  • Starboard side state room with double side bed, including built in storage, private head forward with lavatory, shower, and Vacuflush toilet.

POTABLE WATER

The integral steel tank and multiple polyethylene tanks are in the aft steering compartment.

Shore pressure water connection.

40 gallon 110-volt hot water tank and pump with expansion tank. Piping, tubing, and hoses were used throughout.

SANITATION (BLACK WATER) SYSTEM

Five (5) Mansfield Vacu-Flush Type III heads were serviced by separate vacuum units and an integral steel waste tank.

All hoses were of the appropriate type.

The overboard discharge system was properly secured.

GREY WATER SYSTEM

105-gallon steel tank located amidships on the center was serviced by two centrifugal pumps

MACHINERY SPACE

The main engine machinery space is located below the main deck and is accessible via six dog WT door at aft deck.

The area has access to the after rudder room.

MAIN PROPULSION:

(2) Main Engines Caterpillar 3208 eight-cylinder engines Serial numbers: 01Z91845 port; 01Z3l 846 starboard.

Each is outfitted with water-cooled type exhaust Racor type fuel filters    

(2) Twin Disc hydraulic drives (1.72:1 ratio) marine gears.

2-1/2" stainless shafts (reported new) with dripless packing glands. Units nit aboard at the time of the survey

Propellers were 30 x 28 4 blade bronze.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:

One (1) Caterpillar 3054 45 kw three-phase generator, serial number 4ZK06734,

One (1) Phasor K.4 21 kw three-phase generator, serial number 05710,

One (1) Phasor K.4 12.5 kw single phase generator, serial number 05140

Each is outfitted with water-cooled type exhaust Racor type fuel filters throughout

One (1) Electrical switchboard 240 VAC, Dead front type not fitted for parallel Operation.

The unit is complete with circuit breakers, meter, & ground lights.

PUMPS:

Rule 2800 bilge pumps with float switches located fwd and in steering compartment.

Rule 3700 bilge pumps with float switches located fwd and aft engine room.

Dual centrifugal pumps plumbed to drain bilges & grey water and wash down.

AUXILIARY EQUIPMENT:

One (1) DeVibiss Air power air compressor with 150 PSI air receiver.

One Offshore Marine Laboratories "Sea Quencher" water maker

Multiple tool storage chest with work bench aft.

Hydraulic power unit for bow thruster and windlass operation.

Steering hydraulic unit with dual pumps. (Gulf Coast Air and Hydraulics)

Emergency steering station to starboard.

Center work bench area with vice, grinder and tool storage.

General monitoring system relaying to pilothouse remote.

Dual machinery space blowers.

Miscellaneous ships stores, filters, & spares, located throughout the Machinery space.
